    Request and writ for garnishment
    I am retired on social security and a small vetrans pension I got in the mail Sat. from my credit union a copy of a garnishee disclosure and request and writ for garnishment (nonPeridic) what does that mean:confused:

    It sounds as though any checking and/or savings account funds have been seized by a judgement creditor. The disclosure and writ for garnishment should indicate the plaintiff/creditor's name and the name of the judgement defendant. Garnishments sometimes have their own case number, but the disclosure should indicate the judgement case number as well. With the name of the plaintiff (judgement creditor) and case number, you should be able to get a copy of the case. The social security and pension funds may be exempt from garnishment, but you may have to provide this notice to the court and plaintiff on your own.
