Can someone other than my landlord evict me
I've been renting a trailer in fl for 2 1/2 yrs on a month to month lease. My landlord originally bought the trailer out of foreclosure. We recently became aware that the previous owner is still using this address, I've had the sheriff here trying to serve a warrant for him and I've even had bill collectors at my door. About 3 months ago I received notice that the property was going up for sheriff sale with the previous owner listed as the current owner. I forwarded this to my landlord who told me that when he bought the property the title check was clear so I shouldn't worry. Now I've just received a notice to vacate immediately from a property management company. My landlord says to ignore it and his lawyer is taking care of it but I'm worried I'll have the sheriff show up to get us out. What can I do and what are my rights?

When your landlord purchased the property, he was probably forced to purchase "title insurance" which basically covers issues (like this) where the title for some reason has an incumbrance on it that was not found at the time of the transfer of ownership.

This is probably a lot of red tape, and you may not be able to be forced to move, but I wouldn't ignore it. Consult an attorney. Soon.

    Good Luck.

By legal definition the landlord and property owner are the same person/persons. You can have a separate rental agent but not a separate landlord and property owner.

I would either speak personally to the landlord's Attorney OR have my Attorney take a look at this.

If you are on a month-to-month lease, of course, you can be asked to leave with a month's notice. Have any foreclosure notices been served?

Are you on private property or in a mobile home park?

This is the issue, if this was bought at a foreclosure sale then they should have title to it, Now many people who are dead beats use their old address, or even someone else's address for bills and collections. I have gotten bills for people I have never known after living in a home for years.

But also did the landlord buy just the land or the trailer title at the foreclosure sale, since in most places mobile homes are repo'ed, not foreclosed.
