    Leaking from Rain Shower
We just purchased a rain shower head. Periodically, there is a discharge of water that comes out of the shower head even though the control is completely off. It seems like water somehow accumulates in the pipes and the when there is enough volume, it is released through the shower head.

Our installer said that this happens with "all rain shower heads".

    Is this "normal"?
What can be done to prevent this since it seems to happen at night when we are sleeping?

    Thanks,

I was ready to go along with the installer until I read this. I just installed a "pancake looking" rain shower head in my walk in shower. Water will collect in the shower head and drain out after there shower's shut off. But in the middle of the night when you're sleeping? Nah! Your installer's blowing smoke up your skirt when he told you that.
this happens with "all rain shower heads".
    Don't happen with mine!
About the only way this could happen is that the shower valve has a small leak that builds up in the shower raiser until it exits out the shower head disturbing your sleep.
I would check the shower valve for a drip that, while small, can be very annoying. Good luck, Tom

Try making sure your shower head is parallel to the floor after your shower. That helps stop dripping as well as the water does not run down and collect at just a few valves
