Can I find someone's criminal history without paying for it?
I just want to find a certain persons criminal history, but all these sites I go to are asking me to pay like $50 or so. That's ridiculous, because I watched a friend of mine pull up information about someone before and he didn't have to pay anything. I'm trying to find out info about someone who lives in Virginia Beach, VA. Does anyone know a site that will let me view his public records for free? Thanks.

You could call the Virginia Beach County Courthouse (in whatever county Virginia Beach is in) and ask the Clerk for any criminal convictions for that person. It's public information. If you have the person's name and approximate age this should be no problem. And while you're at it on the phone you could ask the Clerk if they have a web site where you could get the details on the criminal cases as well. Up here everything is on the computer showing convictions - everything from traffic tickets to murder one, but then this is a bigger county and the smaller counties are not online but you can call up and ask the Clerk and learn anything you want to know.

Depending on why OP wants/needs the info, there are other sources, some more reasonable than others, none that I have ever found that are free and 100% reliable.

Heck and I know I am getting off post, but between the two people we have running, I think excon would be a great write in vote.

I was arrested in 1975 for theft under 50 and released by fine. That incident showed up on my criminal history (that is the only thing I have ever been arrested for) as an update in 2002. Can this type of charge be expunged in the State of Texas?
