    91 honda civic sputtering badly
    Hi all,
    I drove a distance of 40 miles today and as I was climbing a 5-mile long hill in 4th gear my honda lost power and I had to use 3rd gear to get up that hill and switch back and forth between 3rd and 4th gear for the next 20 miles until I reached a gas station where I called a tow truck and had the car towed home. I notice now that my car has a very noticeable sputter and although the engine is running good, there is a strong sputter. I just got an oil change a few days ago, changed the spark plugs and distributor cap wires 8 months ago, changed the timing belt and water pump a month ago, changed the muffler 3 weeks ago, changed the alternator a year ago.
    Can anyone tell me what "might" be going on with my car? Thanks.

    . Check for codes.

    . Replace distributor cap and rotor.

    . Replace Ignition Control Module and coil, if they have never been changed. Here's how to do it yourself:

    . Replace fuel filter.
