Hi, I'm in juvenile probation in Virginia, and I was out in Maryland about a week ago. We got pulled over and they found some marijuana in the trunk, my friend ( the driver ) said it wasn't his and I said I had no clue what they found, They ended up charging both of us. My questions are, can they charge both of us, or will they charge him because he is the driver, my next question is, should I let my probation officer know, do you think she will find out because it happened in another state. I had nothing in my possession.

First of all, did you have written prior permission to leave your state and be in another? Probably not. Instant violation there. Second, regardless of who's maryjane it was, you were charged. Regardless if it was found on your person or not it makes no difference as you were in the same vehicle that it was found in. Instant violation there.

If you are smart you will notify your PO as soon as possible and have a good attorney to help you through this mess as you are in a lot of trouble for #1 and #2 above and should your PO find out about it without you first telling him, he's going to be really, really upset with you and so will your sentencing Judge.

Get an attorney asap is your best bet.
