How to change shower arm pipe if it's stuck
Following darrel's good advice, I got a pipe wrench to try to unstick the shower arm pipe so I could change the entire shower head and arm that goes into the water source pipe, but I noticed that the inside pipe water source pipe was turning as well, so I stopped. What can I do? :(

You need to use another pipe wrench or something like to hold inside pipe from turning, maybe also spray the joint were it comes together with some kind of liquid penatrent or lubricant to loosen the joint so it comes apart easier. Also when you put new shower head on make sure to put plumbers tape on threads.

Your shower arms threads into a drop eared ell, (see image). Thisn ell is secured bytwo screws into 2 X4 backing. Are you saying that the drop earred ell came loose and is turning as well? Let me know. Tom

Hello, If you saw the fitting inside the wall turn then you may have broken the solder joint in the wall. Take a flash light to see what the fitting looks like in the wall, if you can see that it may have broken then you will have to go into the wall to repair it. Goodluck---Zeke
