    Console flip-up memo holder broke
I just bought a 1998 GMC truck. The center console has a flip-up plastic piece that has a broken latch. Assuming I can find a salvage one, how do I get the old one out? It has two little plastic hinge pieces that hold it in place and allows it to pivit up and down. But when I pry on it with a screwdriver it feels like I am just going to break it. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

I'd recommend getting the entire console lid from a salvage yard (held in by phillips screws). The flip-up isn't' easily transferred.
If you cannot find the same color replacement as your current interior, your local parts store or GM dealer can sell you a small can of spray paint. Or you can simply paint it any color you wish for a custom look.
