    XP and Vista networking
I have a laptop running Vista Home Premium and a desktop running XP Pro. The desktop can access the laptop but the laptop cannot access the desktop. Is this because the machines are running different OSs? Is there any solution or work-round?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Yes. The two machines must be configured correctly in network configuration, sharing configuration, and local user account configuration. Post your specifics for more specific assistance.

You can also search the networking forum for similar posts and their listed solutions as two computer networking seems to be a daily question.

And one that you have posted a fine response to just a week ago in the difference between Windows Vista and Windows XP networking. I would suggest that if Aknowles actually returns for POST #2, they find this post by Scleros. I have not seen this difference between the two stated clearer and more concise that this post.
