Fine metal shavings in a peerless transaxle.
I'm rebuilding a Peerless 2300 transaxle and replacing the gears damaged by the previous owner(s). I've removed much of the metal shavings, but tiny particles still cling to the tranny case. Is it important to get those as well? If so, how can I get them out? I've used a solvent bath and a magnet with limited success.

    Thanks.

I recommend checking this site Jacobsen_Ford_Garden_Tractors : The Best Jacobsen/Ford Group On Yahoo

There is a lot of information about Peerless trans as well as a factory service manual for you unit.

    Good Luck,
