I was married to an american in South Carolina when we divorced I was given full custody but he was given a court order to pay child support I moved to england where I am originally from and he paid child support t first now he is over 20,000.00 dollars in arrears I do get the occasional letter from sc department saying there is a warrant out but to no avail can I claim his tax return or do I just sit and wait and expect nothing I'm completely at a loss its hard to do anythng from england thanks

You need to work through the child support agency in SC to collect.

You need to contatct the child support office where the order was made. If he is that far behind then there is already a note out to intercept any tax refund he may have. But if he isn't working or working self employed then he won't get a refund anyway. The child support office in SC will know of who you need to get with but they may just tell you need to go back to court. If you know his address that could help them locate him if they are having problems with that.
