    I have known a number of people who have gone through it. Since I am over 50, I would suppose that I would need to have one at some point in the future. I have the same fears that you do. What I have gleaned from others, including my son, is that it's not so bad because they do sedate you quite a bit before performing the procedure.

    I know that there will also be others who will come along to address your post. You will find some true empathy here!

    My sister and mother have had it done. Neither complained of any pain. It was over in a matter of minutes for my mom (you have to have someone drive you home). My mom didn't like the stuff they give you the night before that "cleanses" your colon. She said it tastes horrible.
