Is it OK to use a dental emergency kit?
I have been experiencing bad pain from my very back tooth. It is cracked. I went to the emergency dentist last week who said it nees to be taken out. However it was too infected and so I went on anti-biotics. I am due to fly on Tuesday and the dentist said he cannot remove it because of that until I get back. It is now really jumping again and is very painful, I think maybe a nerve is exposed. Does anyone know if it is safe for me to use a temporary filling kit or could this make things worse?
Thank you, don't want it to ruin my holiday

I flew once with an infected tooth and the pain was beyond control. I don't know why with pressurized cabins but it was terrible.

    What did the Dentist suggest?

He said the anti-biotic should stop it,I have 2 days left of them, but its jumping so wondered whether a temp filling would help

Closing off the tooth with a temporary filling could make the pain worse and cause your face to swell up. I'd try to find a dentist who can take the tooth out today or tomorrow. You may need another about of antibiotics after it's removed.

I would suggest pain meds until then, or get it taken out today or tomorrow. I flew the day after getting five teeth pulled... It wasn't that bad...

Take enough pain meds and you can fly without a plane - :D
