    Shower to toilet connection
    Hi,

    I'm in the process of installing a new shower. The closest drain to it is the closet ell. Can I remove the closet ell and instead use a three inch ell with a 2" heel inlet and drain the shower into this, or will this cause problems. I will install a vent on the shower drain side.

    Any input will be appreciated.

    I would use a side inlet closet bend if the shower is to one side of the toilet and a 45 degree side inlet if it's around a corrner  If you could tie the shower into the lavatory dtain you would save yourself from having to run a separate vent for the shower.  The shower would then be wet vented and the lav vent would vent your entire group.  More questions?  I'm as close as a click.  cheers,  Tom

    Some plumbing code prohibit the use of a low heel inlet bend. With that said, this fitting has been used for many years to do exactly what you are talking about. Aside inlet closet bend would be the better if the two fittings to use. Make sure that the inlet on the closet bend is at 45 degrees
