    Asphalt is softer and will not last as long as concrete, concrete is considered to be better than asphalt due to it's longevity. Asphalt is less expensive.

    Amricca is correct but I'd also add you can stain concrete and also get finer details in the stamping. I have some stamped concrete that you'd swear was old barn boards

    Thanks for compliment but I don't want to mislead you with my staining comment. Stain is superficial and not throughout the concrete. True you can color concrete but with staining you can get several colors and texture. My guy used a powder stain that was tossed on by the handful, about 6 slightly different colors. The next day he hosed off the excess and sealed the sidewalk. 4 years later it still beads water and looks like old barn boards.
