    Temperature Sitting
I just purchased a new unit for my house and was told it would keep my house the way I needed it to be, but even after putting the new unit in it is still not working right. I have to keep my unit set on 70 for my house to be comfort, because if I move it to like 72-78 it is very hot in my house. What should I do?

May not be the fault of the a/c. what is the insulation like?specialy in the attic/ceilings,this is usually easy to look at,what type windows do you have ?are the double or triple pain?do you have a lot of windows?are they covered with good insulated curtains? How about the condition of your duct work? Make sure they are tight, not losing any air under the house, not rusted. Have you got a good air return . This is a few of the things that may need to be looked at

Have the company that sold you the A/C unit lower the blower speed one notch or speed. This will eliminate the humidity problem you have which is making you uncomfortable. You are lowering the thermostat temperature now so the unit runs longer to remove that water(humidity from the air).

This has been done for many years with great success. You definitely do not want to blow the drapes around(High speed air) if you want to take the uncomfortable humidity out of the air.

Remember! Keep your air filter clean.

This will also help to keep your utility bill in check since the A/C unit will not have to bring the temperature down any further than necessary.
