    Clone A Program CD Rom
Can anyone tell me how to clone a useable copy of a "program" CD ROM?

I bought a copy of Acronis True Image 11, and would like to make and use a backup copy, and put away the original for safekeeping.

I read about some software called 321 Soft Clone, but it says that it copies Data CDs. Not sure if this is the same as a program CD.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Same thing, as opposed to an Audio CD. Most CD recording software packages have a disc copy function. You could also create an ISO image file of the CD and retain it electronically with ISO creation software such as Alex Feinman's ISO Recorder.

Heh, I had to look as I've only used it for dealing with ISO files. Yes, it will copy too. The software is subtle, most of the functionality is exposed via right-click context menu entries on the CD drive in Windows Explorer which change depending on what can be done with the disc in the drive. You may need to have sufficient hard drive space for the size of the disc content to be copied as it seems as if the disc is cached to hard disk during a copy operation.

I have an old Dell Dimension with XP SP2. My wife basically uses it for email and surfing. It still has the original small 40GB hard drive, which I think is acting up.
