    Noisy refrigerator
    10 year old Kenmore refrigerator. For 5 years as the motor shuts off it has made a clunking noisy like a train stopping. Now all the time the motor is running, it sounds like a car engine revving. Hope you can help.

    Hello

    Bad news... This type of noise is caused by an unbalance inside the compressor. Can not be repaired, so requires replacement of compressor.
    But as the fridge is 10 years old already, I suggest to replace it completely : in the end a lot cheaper, as the new fridges are more economical on energy consumption.
