It's 2008.any new laws on breaking Florida Lease
I was told that there is a new Florida statute that protects renters when breaking a lease as long as they lost a job and found a new job 100 miles or more away from their existing home address. Is this true? If so, wher do I find this statute that specifies this information?

I can't find any such Statute nor do I see a Bill on the agenda -

Not saying it doesn't exist, I just can't find and think it would be on line.

Is there such a provision in your lease?

Given that Florida has some of the most landlord friendly statues on the books, I would be very surprised that they would pass such a law.

And I would think landlords would have been on the march with signs, particularly because this can be covered by lease agreement.

Thanks for trying to help regarding my question. There is nothing in the lease, but I was told by someone on the West Coast of Florida that there is a provision for this as long as the move is 100 miles or more away from the existing residence. However, I, too, looked on line and found noithing. Is there a Real Estate attorney out there that knows Florida Statutres concerning this question?

I've looked myself and there is nothing on this. Again, knowing how much Florida law is landlord friendly, it seems highly unlikely this would even be proposed. I suspect the person who told you this, may have had a clause like that in his lease, but its not Florida law.
