Display not occupying entire monitor coords.
Am using XP and my display was compressed and is not occupying entire screen. I tried with possible resolutions but in vain. I reinstalled the software and also made the system to run in Safe mode. Found no worthness. Is this a HW or a SW problem? Please suggest an alternative.

    Regards,

    Krishna - India.

Have you tried the controls on the display itself. Is that at it's biggest dimensions?

In that case it sounds like your monitor has had it.
Time to get a new one.

Is this a laptop/notebook perhaps? Often the LCD screens like their native resolution only. Also make sure you know exactly what video card you have and that you have the correct drivers for it.

It is a desktop (Intel Celeron) all the drivers are loaded properly. Exact 32 bit resolution is functioning. Only problem is the screen size

If you are seeing a black border around your desktop, that is usually controlled by the screen size and position controls on your monitor. If using those controls doesn't no increase the size or change the position, then I would replace the monitor.
