My washing machine backed up into my master bathroom shower; which is right next to the wash room. Checked the guest bathroom and it was backed up also, but with sewage. After a couple hours it drained and turned into a VERY slow drain. I had a party 2 nights prior to this happening so I called a plumber out to snake my main line from the roof vent because I figured that was the problem. (as I apparently don't have a main cleanout outside my house, or its just buried pretty deep). He cleared a stoppage and it seemed to fix it, but when I ran the washing machine, same thing, just this time it drained a lot faster after we shut off the washing machine. Think maybe there was just another blockage in the main line? p.s. just realized my roommate uses baby wipes for his "final wipe" when he uses his bathroom... and flushes them.

First things first. Potty train your room mate! Nothingthat isn't biodegradable goes into the toilet. Then call the plumberback to complete his job. You will find the house cleanout not over 18" off the house foundation and brought up to grade. It may be covered up but if the plumber will probe for it he should find it. He should open it up and cycle the washer. If it overflows then he should snake to the street. Good luck, Tom

Thanks tom! So you think its in the main line?
Plumber will be back out later this morning to try it again. I am going to dig in the area that I was told my main drain line would be in. the original builders said there was a main cleanout installed, but I don't know. It isn't visible, that's for sure. I was told my main drain line would run out of my master bathroom (NW side of my house) and the city said my main line hooks up to the sewer near the NW corner of my back yard. Would you concur that my main line would be over there? Or could it come from across the yard or something. I know nothing about plumbing lol.

That's where I would start to look. The cleanout's there, just covered up by a few inches of top soil. We take a pointed rod called a "probe" or "sounding rod" and poke around the foundation until we hit it. I think the plumber simply didn't put out enough cable to completely clear the blockage. oh by the way, left out a BIG thing, I just moved into the house about a month ago, and where my cleanout supposedly is, there's a tree =/ I plan on cutting the tree down, to try to prevent any serious damage. But hopefully the cleanout isn't buried or worse, destroyed.
