Hi, Soccerchick28!
Greetings and WELCOME to the site! I just moved your question that you had posted in Introductions to this topic area so that it would get the most exposure to those who are best able to answer it. Introductions is for people to introduce themselves and we try to not ask questions there.
We would appreciate it if you would return to Introductions sometime to tell us a little about yourself though, if you would be willing to do that.
Thanks!

You're allowed to go out with anyone you want. Go straight through the issue and ask your brother if he would help arrange a date between you and his friend. Thank him ahead of time for his help and tell him you like the fact that he has such awesome friends. Ask for your brother's advice on dating him, and suggestions for things to do together since he knows his friend. Ask him to report on his friend's character, too.
Basically, INVOLVE him, don't treat him like a problem to be solved until/unless he actually becomes one.

That's really good and proactive advice above! I would like to add that it would also be helpful to know how old you are. That could make a difference here also in the kinds of answers that you will receive.
Thanks!

I'm just curious, JBeaucaire. Have you added your personal quote that is in your signature to the following thread? https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/books-...171287-53.html
If not, then I hope that you do, because it's really good! :)

I think you should ask your brother how he may feel about it firsthand... and if he gets mad screw him and still go for it lol.
Its not even that awkward, especially at your age... it might be more awkward for them to talk aboutt girls when your name comes up, but you should still go out with him.
