Hi my name is Marie, I am just trying to figure out what the heck is going on with me :confused: Ive been having problems with my period for several years now, since I was in my late 20's. I am now 37, when I say problems I mean I would get 2 periods a month. Usually about 2 weeks apart it seemed that when I was suppose to be ovulating I would bleed instead. Anyway I got used to that it became the norm for me evrey month. Now I'm having this other issue I didn't have a period for 3 months, I wqs going crazy thinking I was preagant again at 37! My kids are already grown well for the most part my oldest is 19 I then have a 16 year old and a 14 year old. But pregnancy test after pregnancy test kept telling me I wasn't preagant! I was just about to get a blood test to find out when I finally got my period after 3 months of not having one. And I know it's a normal period,(well normal for me) its not just spotting or anything. I have cramps and the whole 9 yards. I also started experiencing nightsweats, and hot flashes recently actually they started about the same time.. .
So I guess my q is can I be going through early menapause, and in case your wondering why hasn't this dumb woman gone to a gyn :eek: the answer is NO INSURANCE, and I live in a small town that has no free health clinics. I hope someone can help me with this.

This could very well be what is called perimenopause, however, it is impossible to diagnose over the internet as you well know.

Unfortunately, a visit to the doctor is warranted to rule out any serious illness such as uterine or cervical cancers, and such. I understand not having insurance, I don't have it either. But it is imperative that you get it diagnosed properly. I don't know where you live, but could there be a clinic close to your town?
