    Cleaning dulled hardwood floors
I have a home with floors only about 7 years old. I used to have a cleaning lady who used
vinegar and water only (at least that is what she said - it doesn't work for me) to make them shine. Can anyone recommend what to use to bring the shine back now -they are dull and look like they have residue build up? I have tried Murphy's Oil Soap - it was the worst, all
Pledge products for hard wood, the Wet Mop with solution for hardwood floors. I am now considering buying a steamer but have no idea which one works or if they work at all.
All advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I wouldn't recommend using a steamer on hardwood and floors like yours should still be good after seven years. Vinegar and water is the best all purpose cleaner, environmentally safe, etc. and I use it to clean my windows, much better then Windex.

I worked for a residential cleaning company who used murphy's on hardwood floors and it always worked well. It is recommended for all natural wood surfaces. What could be happening with yours is a bad application of lacquer, maybe not enough to withstand time.

I would recommend sanding down and replying a good application of stain and lacquer.

If your floors aren't work, just dull from small scratches, the Orange Glo Floor Care product might work. Bruce flooring also has a product to bring back the shine for floors still in good shape.
