    Bank account levy
    Is there a way to find out who and how someone can do this? Yes I owe money, but I am paying and $15,000 was taken out today... I owe no one near that amount!:(

    Did you go to your bank in person and speak with the branch manager to see just who took money out of your account and why (if you can find that answer)? You say you owe money, did they get a judgment against you in court? Did they bring suit against you for the money?

    The levy or garnishment is likely filed in the county courthouse where the bank is located. Go to the courthouse if the bank will not help you; ask a clerk to help you locate the file. You may have to file an objection or traverse to speed things up.
