For some of you who have read my threads my ex recently broke up w/me we had a lot of issues & we fought a lot which was not healthy. Above it all I was sure of one thing that he was more in love w/me than I was with him because we did have some amazing times together. He told me I was the love of his life, he made my dad cry 1day when he told my parents how he felt about me & told me he wanted me to move in w/him & start our lives together. I know these are just words & I am not naïve about that.

He broke up w/me telling me he was not in love w/me anymore that the feeling he had before was disappearing as the fights kept getting worse & plus he feels I do not have my priorities straight I can be immature at times plus I live @home which bothered him a little. He wanted me to move w/him but I was not ready. I guess what I want to know is if someone had these great strong feelings for you can fights, issues, etc get in the way & make you start losing that feeling? I am not looking to get back together w/him because I always told myself if a guy ever told me he was falling out of love for me I would have to walk away. I just want in a way to mend my broken heart because it really hurt when he said that.

Yes issues are a big factor in 'falling' out of love.
Even when you are in a good relationship and have issues or tension you can catch yourself looking at your significant other like they are a stranger or you lost a piece of that loving feeling. In a healthy relationship you talk it out, you work it out and you get closer.

Tension is a relationship can extinguish any great flame that you may have. Sometimes one person just realizes it's not worth fighting for anymore and it starts to flicker, there is nothing you can do about it but give him what he wants and allow yourself to heal. You will be happy once again, I promise. The world is still out there, why not experience it?

Thanks for responding.. it is true what you guys say.. he always would try to make it work but I noticed this time he gave up on us... it just killed me because I know when I looked in this eyes he still had this feeling for me when he looked@me so when he said he was not in love w/me anymore it was like someone had pinched me I could not believe he said it.

I am trying the NC approach.. its hard because I am used to him but overall I am happy w/this decision he made... I still have some of my things in his house... I asked many times to put it all in a bag & to leave it somewhere but he never answers that...

Can u fall out of love when there are issues in the relationship?
