Did I do the right thing?
I broke things off with my girlfriend of 6 years almost a month ago. We hadn't talked in 3 weeks until this past Sunday. At first I was happy, and I think I still am, but ever since we talked I am starting to feel like I made the wrong decision?
We were great until she moved about 5 hours away, we tried that for about 6 months and for some reason (I still am unsure why but I think it was because of the distance) I was just really unhappy. To the point where I wouldn't be able to sleep because I just knew something wasn't right.
Well we talked this past Sunday for almost 3 hours, and ever since then she is all I can think about. I don't get how I went from being unhappy to not being able to get her off my mind. I mean I know this whole healing process takes time but I still don't know if I did the right thing? I know if she still lived closer things would be great, but she doesn't and I keep trying to tell myself it's better this way, I just don't know though.
Any input? ANYTHING!! Please!

You two broke up just because u live 5 hours drive apart? If distance is very much an issue to both of you and no ones willing to meet halfway, then yes it was wrong u talked to her.

Long distance relationships are very hard. Going from seeing each other often to living five hours away would be a huge adjustment. For both of you. Is that the only reason why you broke up with her? It is good that your communicating with her. What exactly did you both talk about for 3 hours? Meaning relationship situations or friends, or distance. Do you know what I mean?
Why did she move away?
Is there any chance of a move to be closer anytime in the future?
For your sanity and emotions. Long distance relationships and being farther apart CAN put a huge strain on both sides.
You have decided you do not want to go through that. Is that understood by your ex girlfriend? Even if she is your ex, does not mean you can not be good friends, right?

No we just grew apart, saw each other maybe 2 days a month, talked maybe 10 minutes a day if that. I go to school full time, she just graduated and got a job down there she had to take to get an internship.
We talked a little about us since that was the first time we spoke on the phone since we ended things. It was really nice talk though, and we are both trying to stay good friends. I mean she is still my best friend, and I know we both have feelings for each other, it just got to the point that I was so aggrevated with the situation and what it had done to our relationship that I had to end it before it ended bad and we had no chance in the future.
I don't graduate until the fall but plan on going to grad school, still unsure of where that is going to take me though. Its just tough, I know in my heart I did what was best, and if we are going to have any chance in the future it needed to be done, but now I am on edge.

Well in your heart you made the right decision for both of you. It sounds like you had hardly any time together. I personally believe you made the right decision to end it. Just because you have had a good conversation does not mean that it is all good and ready to be together again just keep in mind that the same problem will exist eventually even if your communicating well together now.

Yeah distance is a very essential issue. So I think that that what u've done is not good but the only choice u had which in turn makes it good
