    Toolbar in "my computer" missing
When I go into the "my computer" icon on my desktop or from the start menu, I see all of my files listed on the right pane like normal. I see system tasks and other places in the left pane like normal. But above that there is no file edit view favorites tools or help. There is not back, forward, up search or folders buttons. There is just the top of the "my computer window. When I go to "explore" by right clicking my computer the toolbar displays correctly here. I tried right clicking in the window in " by right clicking my computer the toolbar displays correctly here. I tried right clicking in the window in " to see if I could change the display and I tried other things but I cannot get the toolbar to come up. How do I do this? I tried clicking the Alt button and it did nothing.

Click ALT key on your keyboard. If they appear, then maneuver around in your VIEW tab to make the file menu pop up.

    • Open MY COMPUTER
    • RIGHT-CLICK in the gray area at the top
    • When the context menu appears, click on STANDARD TOOLBAR
    • You can also click on CUSTOMIZE to add/remove buttons from the Standard Toolbar

I Open MY COMPUTER by double clicking the my computer icon on my desktop or going to start "my computer"
I RIGHT-CLICK in the blue area at the top where it says my computer
    Here is what is listed:
    Restore (greyed out)
    Move
    Size
    Minimize
    Maximize
    Close
No "standard toolbar" or "customize". Just what I listed above

When I right click in the white area below the bar up on top (where all my drives and folders are listed) here is what is displayed:
    View
    Arrange Icons by
    Refresh
    Paste (greyed out)
    Paste shotcut (greyed out)
    Properties

    That's it nothing more.

You're close, but no cigar. You need to click between there, in the grey area. Keep experimenting. Look at the pic below, try right-clicking off towards the right underneatht the minimize button where I circled... IN THE GREY.

Nothing in Help for the "flexible space"... I thought if I put one in there, I could stretch it to be as wide as I like... but it does not stretch. All it really is is a skinny space. What exactly is the flexible space and how do I use it? Thanks!
