I bought the asparagus bare roots from home depot and put them down into the ground. A few months later strong and fat shoots came up. And I ate some of them, and whichever I forgot to get it, it became mature and became a plant.

Now, they have branches and leaves as if we can cut to put in flowers arrangement. And only thready and skinny shoots came out. I fertilized and water as needed. Do I need to cut all mature stems away to ground just like I bought the bare root?
