Response to a credit card lawsuit
I have received a summons from a California court for nonpayment of a credit card balance. I have 30 days to respond to the court. What form must I send them?

Just send them a plain letter stating your Intent to Defend and requestring a court date. Send a copy to the plaintiff with a request for verification of the debt.

While not necessary, I recommend sending your reply, certified mail with return receipt requested, just so you can prove you did reply within the given time limit, and of course, keep a copy of your reply as well.
