CD players don't play DVDs. They share the same shape, that's it. You need a DVD player in your units that play DVDs of the SAME FORMAT your DVD-recorder encodes disks in. There are many formats.

    Tony,
You need to "finalize" the DVD on your recorder before it can be recognized and played on a different player. Just pop the DVD back into your recorder and go through the menus looking for "finalize disc" or something similar.

    Best of luck,

Oh, I didn't notice you said CD player! If that is true, then JBeaucaire nailed it. However, if you really do have a DVD player on your computer, then finalizing it should take care of it.

What format are you recording DVDs in? Your DVD player does read that format, right?

Are you burning in a TV capture DVD-recorder, or are you burning on one computer and trying to read on another.

Again, this is probably a "format" issue. And DVD-RW is another one of those weird options. There are a LOT of formats and you will need to read the manuals on BOTH devices to make sure they are compatible in some format, then use THAT format.
