OTR Driver , convicted of DUI in Semi
I drove for this truck driving company for 15 yrs. No speeding tickets, a few miner accidents, overall a good company driver, did my job without whinning about loads all of the time from dispatch. Ran mostly east coast to midwest, pulling 53 ft dry van, keeping mostly a low profile and doing my job. One Friday night I got into a fight with the ex, and decided to go up to the truckstop where my rig was parked for the weeekend. Went to the bar across the road from the truckstop and drank more than I intended to, I rarely drink , but when I do I usually go to the trk and go to bed , but as stupidity and alcohol affected my judgement, I decided at 230am in the morn the trk was not parked safely, sticking out a bit to far at the entrance, so I decided to move to the lower trk stop , about
200 yards down the road to find a safer place to park, as luck would have it I hit black ice going down the hill to the lower trk stop, trk slid into the right ditch , crushing the guardrail, and doing considerable damage to the right side of trk , loaded with 45,ooo lbs of salt leaning over a steep hillside, needless to say the law came blew a .15 and went to jail for the night, this was in dec 07, lost my wife, job, house, all in one weekend. License was susspended for one year, I know this is a prob a stupid Question , but is there any truck companies out there who would give a guy a second Chance?

Once you get your CDL back it's worth a try to call every single one you can and see what they think. Drivers are at a premium and since you had no major accidents or tickets before this incident it's possible someone will hire you again. This all will hinge on their insurance company's policies. You can start calling companies before your year is up and see if you have any takers. Get a print out of your driving record and be ready to send it to them if asked to. Drinking and driving a big rig as you know is a definite no no. It will be tough going until you hook up with another company, but keep plugging away even if you take a pay cut just to get back on the road. Good luck.

I will be honest, with it only one year old, not many, you will need to look at a lot of the local companies, and smaller companies that pay poorly, have trouble keepiing anyone, I am sorry but because of insurance costs most will not allow DUI for several years.
But you have to start at A and start calling to you get to Z or find one
