Variable fan will only run on low speed
We have a Sears air conditioning condensing unit ( model # 867816840) It was working great and then all of a sudden nothing. We have power to the unit, the fan turns on but at a very slow rate. We have power to the contactor, sounds like the compressor runs. The fan motor blade moves freely. Could it be the fan motor run capacitor.

    Thanks Felix

Could it be the fan motor run capacitor

That would be the cheapest and first fix I would try.

Thanks we will give it a try, do you know where would be the easiest place to get one at. Or is sears the only one who would sell these.

Capacitors are available at heating supply companys in your area or a electric motor rebuild shop.
