    More information, please. What year is it? Carburated or fuel injection?

    When you say "over fueling," do you mean it's running too rich or flooding?
    Did this just begin doing this on it's own?
    What, if anything, has been done to try to correct the problem?

    Hi the car is a 1.4 single point injection 1993 when you put your foot down it jerks and if you tickle the throutle it then picks up but idleing is very lumpy

    There are a couple of possible things to consider:
    You may have a worn throttle position sensor, possible injector nozzle sticking.
    Check the condition of the spark plugs and plug wires, too.

    I was told the ecu need looking at is could this be the trouble

    Yes, the ECU could be the problem and that is harder to diagnose.
