    Sheriff levy
I found out that I have a sheriff levy on my small business account today on a judgment from a credit card account. I have been making payments to the law firm doing the collecting but they told me that they didn't think I was trying hard enough and without notice they put a levy on the account. How long will this levy be taking all the money from my account in which I need to keep my business going?

Without notice? Do they have a judgment against you?

No notice? Let me see, you would have had dozens of bills that the debt is due, you would have received a notice of a court hearing for a judgement and there would have been a court hearing that you could have went to.

They can not do a garnishment of your bank account without a judgement. The judgement will remain until all the money owed is paid, and/or you stop using the account

There is a judgment. The problem that I am running into is the fact that the law firm dosen't want to set up a payment agreement. The person who is handling the account got an attitude when I told him what I was able to afford a month. His reply was send whatever you want, then told me that they will just keep hitting the account as often as they like.

With a judgement, they don't have to agree to any payment plan besides what they can get out of your bank accounts and/or even garnish from your pay check in some states.

So if they can find and take all the money in your bank, that normally more than what you offered ( my guess)
