I installed the asf with "yum install asf" command but still I can't play wmv files. And I installed gstreamer-mad for amaroke but it doesn't play mp3 files .(in console box doesn't run "gst-register " for gstreamer-mad)
Please help me. Thanks a lot.
I use fedora 7 with kernel 2.6.21-1.3194

Have you checked if your sound card drivers are properly installed?

If they are then do :

# yum -y install mplayer mplayer-gui mplayer-skins mplayer-fonts mplayerplug-in

once installed, be sure to configure mplayer to use the ALSA sound system rather than the default. It just works better. Edit the file ~/.mplayer/config and add the following line:

ao=alsa

Thank you for your trying to help me .I now use linux ubuntu ultimate 1.04 and it works very good and plays every thing. If you don't have use it so far try it it's very wonderful
