but when you really think about it , we have a VOLUNTEER military. This infant may very well grow up to VOLUNTEER and serve his country in the armed forces.

Will this mother be proud of him then?
Excellent point, perhaps we'd get another Cindy Sheehad out of the deal.

That may depend on how much MoveOn is willing to pay her to make the next ad.

Thanks for sharing. Only thing moveon.org really could had approved upon is if the mother would had mentioned John McCain's name a couple more times in that 30 second spot. Maybe they could have gone the subliminal route or added a ticker tape at the bottom of the screen also. But other than that it's rather effective!

That's funny I said almost the same thing to my mother in law when she was holding her new grandson about a month ago.

    Ex,

McCain has served honorably, as far as I know never accused his fellow soldiers of war crimes and, (we have the transcript and videos) never said he wanted to wage a 100 year war in Iraq. And I never called the woman a traitor...

Just in case anyone missed it, the link below is the full video version of John McCain's commitment comment on Iraq. Two things that I found mildly amusing, besides the kid in the background that's bored and points to his watch, one: McCain tries to draw a distinction between what he would do (100 years if necessary) and then that of the American public desire to not have any casualties and choose redeployment (as if it's our decision). And two: toward the end of the video the questioner again points out the casualties and John McCain, already irritated, couldn't give a quota to measure the need for redeployment.

A 25,30,35 year old in the military is a child but a 20 year old intern in the Clinton White House is a grown woman who can make her own decisions.
