    Info on 110 cooktops
    Hello Everyone,

My name is Jacqueline and I have been going crazy trying to find anyone that makes a 4 burner cooktop that is 110v. My contractor walked off the job and left me in a real mess. I cannot afford to fix his mistakes so I am desperate to find a 110 cooktop since that is what he wired for.

    Please help!!

    Grateful in advance...
    Jackie

Most of the 120 volt units are going to be 3 burner, but the nicer glass top units have a nice look. What type (size) of wire does he have pulled for the unit,

    Hello Jacqueline,

The reason why they are not common (I'm not even sure they exist) is that the current draw when all four burners are used is (based on 5 KWatt) around 45 Amps at 110 Volt (which would be 22 Amps at 220 Volt).
That requires extra thick wiring and extra strong fuses, and it loads the power consumption at the transformer unevenly. Why did you insist on 110 Volt powering?

Try emailing some US suppliers of electric cooktops to find out if they make one!

    ;)
