Septic system how do I cap it off?
We purchased land in Arkansas with a septic system already installed and has an outhouse on the property which is a mesquito haven. I want to remove the outhouse and cap off the septic system. How do I go about doing this?
Thank you in advance for you help! :)

Do you have a actual septic tank, or merely a "pit"

Thanks for your reply. It is an actual septic tank and they found the cement lid and it fit well onto the tank. It is not part of an actual structure. It is on vacant land, with a foundation partially in place.
Do I need to have them put some type of seal between the tank and the lid or is it fine with a well fitting cement lid until someone builds?
I just bought this property as an investment and do not plan on building myself.

If it is a standard type, the concrete lid merely fits on top, and covered with a layer of dirt. I would have course pumpt it out.
