I don't have a normal period and when I do have one it normally lasts for about 2 days and is very light and then goes away. I got my period a couple of days ago and its super heavy and there is almost black discharge that look like little pieces of liver.. this concerns me as I have never ever had this better so I don't know if it is serious and if I should go to the doctor.

You say "pieces of liver" do you mean clots?

If so, about how big are they?

Is there a chance you could have been pregnant and may be miscarrying? Time to check with your doctor.

Well I am married my husband been is in iraq and the last time we slept together was 3 months ago give or take a week won't I have noticed if I was pregnant?

Not necessarily. I was over 4 months pregnant before I found out with my last 2 children. Either way, clotting such as this is not normal and warrants an investigation.

Have you ever been diagnosed with endometriosis?

I don't think it is necessary to go to the hospital unless you are soaking a pad in an hour, but it does necessitate a call to your doctor first thing in the morning.

Well I am soaking through at least one tampon every couple of hours and when I got to change it when I take it out blood comes out in small gushes

Stop the tampons and use pads, they are easier to use, less chance of infection, and much easier to tell how much you are bleeding.

Then get some pads in the morning, but pads are MUCH safer than tampons.

Do you think you can kind of measure your output? Kind of like a cup an hour or more or less? Just gimme a guess.

More and I just got back from the bathroom and there was a huge clot that was really black and some red and its getting worse as the night progresses and right before it gets worse each time I have a sharp pain in my right side and only in my right

I would say it's time to go to the hospital then. Unfortunately I can't diagnose you over the internet, I wish I could. It may be nothing at all, but at this point, seeing that it is getting worse as the night wears on, it would be better for you to be checked out. You should never bleed more than about 2 tablespoons an hour.

Maybe you were just due for a normal period since you've been having light ones so this one was a lot heavier and the clots are just the lining of your uterus. I know when I miss a period my next one is heavy and I get dark clots as well. You should still make an apt to see a doc though... maybe you can go on because pills to regulate your cycles.
