I am not a Doctor, nor a Professional in the "sleep" area.
I do suggest seeing a Doctor, explaining all this to him/her.
You have taken the 1st. Step in posting here, and you know you have a sleep problem. It can be cuased by many things, like stress, which is mental, or can be caused by "physical" aspects, of body functions.
"Sleep Deprivation", if that is what you might have, is somewhat common, and can be helped by a Doctor.
If trying things yourself, like maybe some heavy exercising before bedtime, to cause you to be somewhat "worn out" doesn't work, or trying other things mentioned in the answer before mine doesn't work, then please see a Doctor.
