    Child support and parental rights
I am curious about something. If one parent want to sign over parental rights to a child, while to other parent needs the child support money coming into the new marriage, will most judges stop the child support? Thanks ahead of time!

Terminating rights does not necessarily mean it will stop child support and it is not as simple as going and signing a piece of paper anyway.

    Hello adam:

Giving up your rights doesn't mean you give up your responsibility. Whomever gives 'em up, gets nothing for doing so, and looses everything.

Therefore, it's really a stupid move.

If you had bothered to read the sticky at the top of this forum or any of the hundreds of threads that discuss this issue, you would have had your answer.

A parent can't "sign over their rights" just like that. A court has to issue a Termination of Parental Rights. Courts do not like to do that. No judge is going to stop child support. TPRs are only granted to clear the way for adoption or if the parent is a danger to the child.
