    Default Judgment, Florida
I received a letter today which says I have a default judgment against me from a company I have never heard of, don't owe money to, and was never sent a notice to go to court. How can this company get a judgment without me being notified. They are asking for all of my personal info, and it says I have to send it to this person's atty. What do I do next?

Resond telling them that no, you don't owe the money, no you are not providing any info and you were never served notice of any judgement and to your knowledge there is none.

Next of course you need to go to court and see if someone lied about service ( happens all the time) and they did get a jdugement, in which case, you ask for a stay on the ground you were never properly served.

Also if you owed the money and they got a judgement, they already have all the info they need. And not sure what "personal info" but they have no real right to a lot of info

Actually, I would go to the court house before I responded to the attorney.

Ask the clerk of court for the proof of service of the original notice of the suit.

If there is no proof of service, then you just file a motion to have the judgment dismissed based upon the grounds that you were never properly served.

If that is the case, you have no reason to open up communications with this attorney at all.
