It makes a difference, did you steal 4899 dollars, or 10 dollars??

If it is a lower amount most likely probation. Yes you will have a record if you are found guility or plead guility

    Hi,

They charged me "possession of stolen property under $5000. All the total worth from retail is around $1200. Actually, these items were found from the garbage box.

You need an attorney, my guess would be probation but then it is hard to tell,

Thanks you for your quick reply, in the meantime, can I go and get another job to work for my living? Also, my court date is on July, will it be the only one and the case would be close?

Hope this can help. I'm from Florida and here if the theft is $300 or more it is called grand theft. Yes it will go on your record, if you are found guilty. Was this charge direct filed? Or did they arrest you on the spot... every state has laws that differ in offence charges.

After they called the police, they let me go without signing anything. After a day, the police called me and ask me to get a blue ticket with finger print date and court date.

Wow never heard of a blue ticket, every state is different. In Florida anything over $300 is a 3rd degree felony.

Should be a new post -

Whether it will show depends on where you are in the legal process. If you have not been charged and are simply under investigation, no, there is no criminal charge against you and nothing on your record.
