    Lien on house
My Homeowners association put a lien on my house for unpaid late fees/atty fees. I paid my HOA fee late and did not pay the late fees and now I find out that they put a lien on house for the late fees/atty fees. My wife and I are struggling to pay our bills and our mortgage takes up our income and it'll be difficult to pay the $300 plus that they are demanding. Can I negotiate with them or get on a payment plan with them? What is the lien process? Can I lose my house for this ?

The placement of the lien will prevent you from selling or transferring the property, without first satisfying the judgment.

I would expect that they would accept payments, however you may be accruing interest, and would have to plan to cover that additional amount.

You need to talk to the HA, and see what options they are willing to accept to settle this dispute.

If you don't plan on selling or moving in the short term, this is not hugely worrisome. The only kicker would be if they continued to accrue interest on the amount owed.
