Hubsand wants to file bankruptcy - wife does not want to
My husband's financial situation is in dire need of help. He wants to file bankruptcy for himself only. We only have one account held jointly, our mortgage. If he files bankruptcy how will that affect my credit?

Welcome to AMHD. Your husband can file individually; as long as your mortgage account is current, it should have no bearing on your credit. Of course, crazy things happen with credit reports. The one issue you should be concerned with is the amount of information about your income that your husband will have to disclose in his petition; to the extent that you have your own income and want to protect your privacy, you may need to inquire with his attorney or get your own.
