Finding it hard to make a choise
Yesterday my friend and I started in this rock school which is really lessons for guitar, drums, bass etc.
The teacher was just mostly talking to us and messing about with differarnt rifts on the gutair. In the last ten minutes or so everyone playing different instruments play together (it's all in one hall). When we were playing, I think it was Green Day - Amerincan idiot, ma and my friend played better than the teacher realised we could and she said that we would probably be good enough for the live proformance in three weeks.
I was absolutely crushed to find out it was the day my dad was taking me and my brother away. It is only to scotland (I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland) but it's something we've done for ages. My dad gave me the choise of just not going this year and I'm in a real Dilemma.
I want to go on holidays but I really want to go to the performance as all my friends said they would go and cheer us on. Its upseting me because I don't want to disapoint anyone.
I want to stay and go to the performance more but I especially don't want to upset my dad. I mean I would do anything to make up but you know, I'm terrible with guilt.
Help!

Would your Dad consider waiting a day to leave? Have you told him about the potential performance?

Yes, I said to him but it would be a bit late notice and I also suggest me leaving a day later but when we get over on the boat you have to frive like age and ages before we get to were we're going. It would be a lot of hastle have to drive back and forth and also I'd feel terrible putting him out of his way to collect me.

I see... :(
From personal experience: when I was in 6th grade I chose to go to a school function rather than my little brother's birthday party. My Dad let me make the decision and really, there was nothing wrong with either one (it was my brother's second birthday, he doesn't remember) and I chose to go to school. Today (I'm 28), I still look back on it and wish I had chosen the family thing.
I'm not telling you to choose either one, but just weigh all the possibilities, probabilities, and outcomes before you choose. I'm sure your Dad will understand either way. Ask his opinion... I'm sure that if he knew how special it was to you, he'd support you, too. It sounds like you do this family vacation thing every year. Ask him what he honestly thinks.
I wish you the best! And congrats on that honor! A performance so soon!? You must be REALLY good! ;)

OH!! That's so sweet! Thank you so much! One day, hopefully, we'll see if that comes true! :)
Not being one, I have no idea, but I think that in order to be a good Mom, you have to be a good listener, communicator, diplomat, friend, teacher, girlfriend, super-hero, defender, smiler, reader, singer, and woman. I can only hope that I'll be like that one day!

You decide now and it will happen :)

Awesome quotes.. I like 'em..
Thanks for talking to me about this.. I tried to talk to a few people in school but they've attention spans like gold fish so I never really got my point through. It feels good talking to someone who is twice my age and has been through everything I'm going through as a teenager. So, thank you =]

:) No problem. I figure, if I can survive teenage-hood, anyone can!
I'm always here :)

Where are you from because its 9pm here?
It's good to know there's someone I can talk to
Its weird because I find it easier talking to someone I don't know over the PC but oviously the person would have to come from a reliable source (like you).. I'm not that silly

I'm in Nashville, TN, but soon to be Florida. Moving to take a new job! Woo-hoo!
Its 3 pm here.
I think that's one of the nice things about AMHD... I've received so much good advice from people I would have never had the privilege to talk to over coffee. It's nice to have virtual coffee with people from all over the world! :)

Hehe, yeah virtual coffees are great.
Also if you read through different questions you realise that your not the only one that feels a perticular way or has a different opinions on things etc.. I hope I'm not confusing you.
Your so darn lucky moving to Florida! In Northern Ireland is mosty raining so it's a pretty depressing place to live.

Lol, yes, the green is pretty green..
The only thing I like about here is the accent.. I don't mean to sound selfcentered but I think my/our accent rocks but I also love american accent, there's such a glamourous tone to it.
I'm going here to do something more productive.. I recently did and Creative Writing coursework for English and I really liked the story I did so I may continue it just for fun.
Talk to you soon,
Much love xx
(And remember, your one cool dude!)

I don't get the quote. So, if I dream of being a professional football player, I'll be a professional football player? I know I live under a rock, but life surely can't be that easy.

Lol, true but if you don't have a dream to aim for there is no point in anything... well that's what I think anyway.
