AC relay switch coil is not energizing
Our AC is a Trane XE 1000. It was blowing out warm air,so I checked the fan and it was not working. Checked the relay switch and it appears that the rely switch coil is not energizing. Put tape on the relay switch and now I am getting cold air. What could be causing the relay switch coil not to energized? When I remove the tape the fan stops and the blower continue to run.

Could be a bad coil in the relay or could be a lack of power to astivate the relay. Check with meter to discover defective item. Then replace.

Not really. If you don't know how to use a meter then you have a real problem and you would be better served calling for on site professional help.

I cannot give you a education in meter usage but if you do buy a meter it comes with directions. There is also a wiring diagram on the inside of the blower door inside and a drawing on the inside of the access door outside. Good luck.
