Hi there I have just rebuilt my laptop and re-installed illustrator CS2 and now I have no fonts showing up in the drop down menu in the Character pallette.

If anyone could shed some light on why this might have happened after putting in a completely new Hard Drive I would be extremely grateful.

There is a simple solution, although what it says about Adobe's software design is rather disturbing. If you install (or reinstall) the latest Adobe Reader software available free online, then Illustrator will magically manage to list the fonts again in the Character palette.

I assume it has something to do with how Adobe shares resources between applications, although obviously it's not a welcome design feature!
