Seeking suggestions for plantings in rain runoff area
    Folks,

The slope and topography of our property results in rain runoff pooling and exiting at the end of our driveway (not the street end). My wife and I are looking for suggestions for plantings that can tolerate "wet feet", while being in sun/shade, and fill in to prevent weeds from dominating there. Right now the only things that grow there are a huge patch of weeds. We live in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvnia.

    Looking forward to your suggestions!

    Many thanks,

    Also called vinca

Nice ground cover, spreads pretty fast. My last house we had it on a hill behind our house. Partial sun/shade should be perfect.

    bushg,

Thanks. I happen to think vinca is a beautiful ground cover. I didn't think it would be suited to the "wet feet" that it will have. I'll check into it.

    Thanks again.

Other plants that might work... bergenia is an option... globe flower can be also but can be invasive if you don't cut off the tops before they seed... some iris are quite happy wet...

Honestly, id find a couple of good locally owned, independent nurseries and talk to them about what might work for your area... for all the hours I've spent online and in books I've found the best help when connecting with private, local nurseries... not to mention they often have interesting varieties.

Let us know what you choose.
